BEGINNING OF THE NON-FORMAL EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES FOR ADULTS

Working as in implementing partner of ASB Greece, on a project funded by ECHO (European Commission Humanitarian Aid) ARSIS conducted the research in order to identify the needs for different organized activities in the camps in North Greece, through contact with the refugees, camp manager and the international NGOs. Two Refugee Education Coordinators addressed to adults (young men and women) stated that no other NGO is implementing non-formal education or vocational training for adults. After that, the following workshops were identified as wanted and proposed in order to find the suitable space to host them:

  • Mosaic Art Making Workshop
  • Jewelry Making Workshop
  • Knitting Workshop
  • Musical Instruments Construction Workshop
  • German and English language classes

Two workshops were recognized as the most wanted, Mosaic Art Making and Knitting workshop. Last week, ARSIS staff started visiting refugees in their living spaces, informing them and asking for their participation. Creative and productive activities will start soon!
