Refugees from the Katsikas accommodation site took part in the annual Ioannina Lake Run on the 21st September, International Day of Peace.
The 61 refugees participated in the 5km run in Ioannina to mark the International Day of Peace on the 21st of September. With the support of ASB staff the refugees created their own Peace symbol which appeared on pins and hats given out on the day of the Lake Run in the city of Ioannina.
All 61 refugees successfully crossed the finishing line in an effort to promote the importance of Peace. Events like the Ioannina Lake Run are important for the integration of refugees, living at accommodation sites, with the local community.
